Huntington Ingalls Industries has immediate need of a Business Development Manager. 

Position Summary

The Business Development (BD) Manager will work for the BD Director, and with Operation Leadership, Account/Line managers, Solution Architects, and other BD resources across the company to identify new market opportunities, develop strategies for growth and lead business capture activities.  Focus will be on U.S. Air and Space Force markets, as well as the Intelligence Community.

Duties and Responsibilities

BD Manager duties may include the following:

  • Conducting opportunity research and analysis
  • Entering opportunities into SalesForce and shepherding them through initial Gate reviews
  • Assisting the BD Director with business development pipeline management
  • Contributing to/authoring requests for information, solutions, and white papers
  • Developing relationships with existing and potential customer clients
  • Developing relationships with existing and potential industry partners
  • Contributing to and leading account strategy development
  • Participating in industry groups and attending conferences/symposia
  • Representing the company at customer-initiated Industry Day meetings
  • Contributing to and leading the development of marketing programs
  • Leading capture activities
  • Assisting others during Capture and Proposal Development, to include offer solutioning; win strategy sessions; and proposal engineering and draft reviews
  • Complying with all corporate policies and procedures
  • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintaining basic knowledge of current affairs and relevant technologies in support of the preceding duties
  • Collaborating with others across HII in the support of the preceding duties

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with 10+ years, Masters 8+ years, or 16+ years experience in lieu of degree 
  • 3-5 years of business development experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a government contracting environment, preferably in the defense or intelligence community
  • Strong reputation and references desired
  • Space or Intelligence Community experience desired
  • Experience with entire business development/capture/proposal continuum desired

  • US Citizenship required with current or ability to obtain TS security clearance is required.
