Job Description

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) will be responsible for security implementation at HII - Mission Technologies wholly owned subsidiary, Enlighten.  The applicant will report directly to the Director of Security for the CEW&S business unit at (HII), but also work with the Enlighten leadership on all security matters, processes, and procedures.  Will also be responsible for some physical security measures.  Work is on-site in Linthicum Heights, MD the majority of the time with some hybrid flexibility.  Will be moving to a new office in the spring. Currently looking at Columbia, MD area. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for executing daily security activities, enforce control, and ensure company security policies are followed. They are responsible for creating a secure working environment for employees, vendors, and company visitors. The applicant must have working knowledge and experience with the duties listed below:
●    Possess the confidence to make critical security decisions concerning high value contracts and to implement security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities or information
●    Implement the requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and the Special Access Program (SAP) Manual
●    Process personnel security clearances and complete pre-screening questionnaires through the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT), and other security applications and databases (i.e., Access Commander, DISS, NISS) 
●    Manage Enlighten physical security program across a portfolio of offices (badging, CVTC, alarm panels, manage proximity card program, oversee visitor control procedures, interior controls, visitor control procedures).
●    Responsible for physical security measures such as conducting physical security and risk vulnerability inspections.  Will evaluate and provide recommendations to onsite leadership.
●    Understand all active Enlighten DD-254 contractual requirements and support the issuance of DD-254s for subcontractors
●    Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate
●    Participate in implementation of the company's Insider Threat Program (ITP)
●    Own the company's Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) program; prepare training and assist in the administration of all security education and training for the Enlighten sites
●    Responds to, and investigates, security infractions and violations.
●    Responsible for preparation, management and interfacing with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) during audits.
●    All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

●    Security Clearance: A current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph level clearance and therefore all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
●    Minimum of 6 years’ personnel security experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
●    Experience processing employees for clearances at multiple levels and maintaining records of employee clearance levels, etc. 
●    Must have experience with DD-254s, Visit Requests, DCSA audits, security training for employees, etc.
●    Experience supporting the DOD; especially Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, etc.
●    Must possess good organizational skills, accuracy, communication, and interpersonal skills
●    Must be able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments concurrently. 
●    Have strong, customer service friendly communication skills with all levels of staff.
●    Some prior experience with physical security for a non-sensitive office location. 
●    Must be able to work on-site in Linthicum Heights, MD the majority of the time with some hybrid flexibility until spring when we move offices. Looking into the Columbia, MD area. 

Preferred Requirements

●    Experience supporting/working with a SCIF or closed space.
