HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced individual to come join our team! The General Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the teams engaged in construction activities; and planning, coordinating, assisting in cost control, and ensuring a safe work environment. Other duties and responsibilities include:

  • Operating and promoting safe working on site and implementing company requirements and legal regulations
  • Recommending repairs, supervising the maintenance of tools and equipment, and determining work procedures
  • Planning the hiring of contract equipment and operators in order to assure proper utilization; and interpreting, implementing, and enforcing regulatory requirements related to safety, environmental, and industry standards
  • Ensures all works are performed in accordance with approved method statements

What you will be doing...

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

What we are looking for...

Requires an Apprentice graduate, or the equivalent in education, training, and experience plus 6 or more years production supervisory experience. Additional education and training in industrial or business management, or a technical field, such as bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the specific area of responsibility, and a working knowledge and understanding of the interrelationship and interaction of the other Trades, Projects, Shops and business processes. Must demonstrate managerial, analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Depending on area, specific technical, medical, and physical requirements may apply.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance #LI-MH1 *TL *EP *MV

Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
