Job Description

HII-Mission Technologies is in search of a Lead Systems Engineer (Engineer Systems 4) to work closely with our customer at NSWC in Port Hueneme, CA. The selected candidate will review ISEA of the future concepts, assess across the 12 attributes identified, and provide recommendations. Concepts can include technology improvements in Edge and Cloud technologies (Distant Support), Reliability Models, Data Management, and analysis (Machine Learning, AI), Virtual AEGIS (CS Readiness), NAVSEA enterprise models (MBPS, …), DMS MS (Additive Manufacturing; new source), and Maintainability requirements (updates based on IOTF technology insertion). Provide AoA and BCA support assessing technology cost impacts to operational availability, spares cost, manpower cost, probability of mission success, and support cost. Provide CBM+ support to identification of a variety of data types such as maintenance log data and user inputs, sensor data, logistics data, and usage data to provide recommendations and indicators for maintenance and performance assessments.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze sustainment strategy and perform analyses of alternatives to develop recommendations to improve life cycle supportability.  Research industry and Government data, policies, and procedures to develop recommendations to improve the reliability, maintainability, and sustainability of systems while reducing the life cycle cost associated with the ability to mitigate obsolescence and ensure availability of materials, components, and systems. 
  • Perform maintainability analyses and prepare maintainability planning documentation on systems, subsystems, equipment, and components. Develop and update maintenance concept tasks and criteria for all levels of maintenance.
  • Review Government provided maintenance procedures to identify and recommend opportunities to improve maintainability, decrease cost, and improve depot processes and procedures.
  • Develop training to educate individual users and using units on the latest operational procedures resulting from the analyses and RDT&E.
  • Develop models associated with Model Based Product Support (MBPS) requirements.  MBPS requirements include the use of digital data to implement predictive analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Additive Manufacturing (AM), Augmented Reality (AR), and sensor deployment to support Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) and system prognostics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with aspects of resource planning, funding, budget, and personnel required
  • Ability to lead collaborative efforts across Program Offices, SYSCOMs and warfare centers required

Preferred Requirements

Top Secret Clearance 
Systems Engineering degree (Master of Science degree in STEM field preferred)
Modeling & Simulation experience 
Familiarity with US Navy supportability processes 
Familiarity with US Navy logistics processes
