Who We Are

Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a Production Planning and Scheduler to support the SeaWolf Class Configuration program. This position is located at our NetCenter office in Hampton, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, scheduling and coordinating the update and maintenance of SCSIS data in the CDMD-OA database for Seawolf Class Submarines. The selected candidate will be responsible for the daily Seawolf related activities and the quality review of all Seawolf related internal and external products:

  • Provide subject matter for all Seawolf related requirements.
  • Attend and participate in all Seawolf meetings.
  • Attend and participate in Monthly Expanded Ship Work Breakdown Structure (ESWBS) Working Group meetings.
  • Preparation of Seawolf work instructions.
  • Upload Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS). #LI-AK1 *MV *TL *EP

What You Will Do

  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. 
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. 
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. 
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
  • Provide subject matter for all Seawolf related requirements.
  • Attend and participate in all Seawolf meetings.
  • Attend and participate in Monthly Expanded Ship Work Breakdown Structure (ESWBS) Working Group meetings.
  • Preparation of Seawolf work instructions.
  • Upload Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS).

What You Must Have

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience. 
  • Prior experience utilizing the Configuration Data Managers Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA).
  • Prior experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings.
  • Prior experience with fleet modernization.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. 

Physical Requirements

The majority of the responsibilities will be associated with computer use. Good sight and the full use of both hands for computer input are essential.
