Job Description

HII - Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Web Engineer to work out of their client's Merrifield, VA office in support of the USPS Engineering Systems Software Development Life Cycle Process Management Project.



Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Performs web management, server administration, database management, application management and development, and additional support services.
  • Reviews specifications and provides time estimates on the development of projects and features.
  • Prioritizes projects and deliverables.
  • Must be a self-starter. Interfaces with multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Responsible for effectively collaborating across many stakeholders in an integrated environment and interfacing with multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • May mentor junior staff.



Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related area.
  • Experience in a related field using commonly used concepts, practices, languages and procedures within Web development including SQL, HTML, CGI, JAVA/J2EE, Object Oriented Programming, IIS, WebSphere, ColdFusion, Oracle, JavaScript, VBScript, SBM ModScript
  • Experience maintaining and upgrading server software
  • Experience in documenting software changes and improvements
